Leeds United have been linked to Championship attacker Michael Olise in the past and there is a fresh update on these stories linking him with a move to Elland Road.
The latest on Olise
According to the print edition of The Sunday People (20/12; page 53), via The Boot Room, Leeds are still keen on Olise and remain in the hunt to sign the attacking midfielder. However, the latest update is not exactly good for the club as it is claimed that it is Palace who are the current favourites to sign him.
This will be a blow for Leeds
One of Olise’s teammates, Sam Baldock, discussed the player earlier this year, as he said: “Michael is a real talent, he’ll get on the ball in any situation. He’s fearless.”
For someone to chat about an 19-year-old in this way highlights the sheer potential that he has and this could be a real coup for Leeds if they decide to make a move for the player now that his release clause is known.
The attacking midfielder looks to be enjoying his time at Reading this season. In his ten appearances in 2020/21, he has four goals and seven assists (WhoScored). He has also managed 1.4 shots, 1.7 key passes, and 1.1 successful dribbles a game. This attacking threat has been crucial to Reading fighting for promotion this season.
To have this much pressure on your shoulders at this age and to still be succeeding emphasises the quality of the player, so it will definitely be a big blow to see that Marcelo Bielsa’s side are not favourites as Palace look to close in on his signature.
