Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa is reportedly interested in making a move for Nahitan Nandez before the transfer window comes to a close.
Bielsa’s side have started the season in superb form, pushing Liverpool on the opening day of the season to a narrow 4-3 defeat before beating both Fulham and Sheffield United.
Gaining promotion from the Championship last term which saw Leeds win the league title, the Argentine coach has attempted to bolster his squad options this summer, bringing in no less than seven players during the transfer window thus far.
With few days remaining until the transfer window closes, Leeds are now being linked to a number of players.
One player to emerge and be linked with a move to Elland Road is Nandez, who currently plays for Italian side Cagliari.
Nandez, 24, moved to Europe last summer after spending time with Penarol and Argentine side Boca Juniors, winning the Argentine Primera Division in the meantime.
A regular for Cagliari, the midfielder featured in 35 games last term, scoring twice and gaining five assists in the process. He is a tenacious midfielder, averaging at least one tackle and one foul per game in every single season of his career on record at Whoscored.
Valued at £20.7m by Transfermarkt, Nandez certainly seems to be a good option for Bielsa, and the potential of Todd Cantwell also coming to Elland Road could add even more options for the Argentine boss to choose from in the centre of the park.
One thing is for sure, the targets Bielsa is looking at and the players being linked with a move to Leeds are impressive to say the least.
Leeds have started the Premier League season well and with the potential additions of the likes of Nandez or Cantwell – it seems things can only get better.
