Leeds United have been gifted with an opportunity to sign Liverpool youngster Yasser Larouci, according to reports.
Larouci to Elland Road?
After being heavily linked with the 20-year-old last summer, Football Insider revealed that the door has opened for the Whites’ Director of Football Victor Orta to swoop for the former France U19 international this month.
The report added that this has come about after Larouci turned down improved terms at Anfield and will now be looking for a new home, with his current contract coming to an end in the summer.
The versatile left-back has not seen a solid run in the first-team after making just two appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
But their reserve coach Barry Lewtas is a huge fan of him, describing him as “lightning quick” after putting in some impressive performances for his U23s side.
Transfer Tavern Verdict
Both Stuart Dallas and Ezgjan Alioski have mixed and matched in the full-back positions this season in Marcelo Bielsa’s side. But with both players just shy of their 30’s, it would be a wise move from Orta to prioritise youth.
Time will tell whether Leeds opt to make their move before the 1st February deadline.
