Leeds United typically haven’t made a lot of signings in a January transfer window under Marcelo Bielsa, however some players could be leaving the club as Phil Hay believes there will be some movement on deadline day.
Hay drops Leeds transfer update
The journalist for The Athletic reported: “A fairly quiet deadline day ahead of Leeds. Only outgoing moves expected. Interest in Olly Casey still (including MK Dons). Also offers afoot for Jay-Roy Grot and Rafa Mujica.”
This news makes perfect sense
Players like 20 year-old Olly Casey need such a move to materialise. Not only would it be good for the defender, but also for Bielsa as he can see how he gets on at such a level and if he has the potential to succeed in the Premier League in the future.
Meanwhile, Rafa Mujica has only made four appearances on loan in La Liga 2, whilst Grot has been nowhere near the Leeds squad this season, so it would be for the best if the club could find them moves before the transfer window shuts.
If the Whites can shift a bit of deadwood, clear some wages off the bill and find a place for young talents like Casey to gain experience, it would be a successful deadline day.
