Leeds United youngster Rafa Mujica is currently on loan at Real Oviedo, but reports suggest the Spanish side have no use for the forward and could send him back to Elland Road.
The latest update on Rafa Mujica
Eldesmarque are reporting, via Leeds Live, that Oviedo want to finish the deal early to free up funds and a place in the squad. However, the final decision on this is down to Leeds sanctioning an early end to the loan.
This could finally be the chance for the youngster to get his shot under Marcelo Bielsa, having never played for the Whites in a senior match due to being loaned out each season.
Leeds fans could be seeing a young talent sooner than expected
The 22 year-old attacker has barely been given a chance to impress in Spain, playing only 34 minutes of football in the 15 league games Oviedo have been a part of this season (Transfermarkt).
Therefore it would be best for all parties, especially Leeds, if he returns to Elland Road. Marcelo Bielsa’s side signed the young talent from Barcelona B in 2019, so he definitely has some potential to succeed. He just needs some experience first and sitting on the bench is not going to help.
His stats since leaving Barcelona B do not portray him in a good light, as he has only made 18 appearances at the three sides Leeds have loaned him out to (Transfermarkt). He is also yet to feature for the English side, so will be a completely new face when fans return to Elland Road.
Despite his inability to make a proper impact in any of his loan spells or at his parent club though, there is still hope he can realise his talent, with Leeds Live scoring the Victor Orta signing as a ‘wait and see’.
Orta appears to have a knack of signing talented players from his homeland – like Rodrigo and Diego Llorente for example – so Mujica could be the next in line if he is just given a fair chance.
