The agent of Udinese attacking midfielder Rodrigo De Paul is waiting on a last-minute signal from Leeds United over a potential move to Elland Road.
With the transfer window in England coming to a close next Monday, Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa is seemingly keen to further his summer spending of just under £80m and add to his squad.
A number of players have been linked with a move to the Yorkshire club, including French youngster Michael Cuisance, although a deal for the Bayern Munich man came to an abrupt end on Thursday evening.
Todd Cantwell has also emerged as a potential arrival, whilst a link to De Paul has been maintained in both English and Italian media sources.
Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth spoke about Leeds’ interest in De Paul recently, claiming that a reported bid was just a ‘smokescreen’, but Viola News have now claimed that the Argentine’s agent is waiting for the nod from the English club for a deal to go through.
With the transfer window coming to a close, rumours linking De Paul are expected to continue, whilst the Daily Express have recently claimed that Bielsa has two players on his shortlist, indicating that the former Athletic Bilbao head coach wants to bring in Daniel James and the aforementioned Cantwell.
A move for De Paul would certainly be a good one for Leeds, but Marcelo Bielsa may not want to spend big before the window closes.
A potential loan deal for James from Man United and a move for Cantwell does seem to be the avenue that the Argentine will go down, if any, before the window closes.
It does seem that De Paul’s agent is doing is upmost to secure a move, but it does seem a little bit too late for such a deal to go through.
