# Leeds: Whites begin Tyler Adams transfer talks

**[Leeds United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/) have reportedly ‘started talks’ to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Tyler Adams.**

### The Lowdown: Leeds linked with Adams

The Whites have made [three summer signings](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leeds-united/transfers/verein/399/saison_id/2022) so far, and it looks as if the American could potentially become the fourth off-season arrival at Elland Road.

Sky Sports journalist [Florian Plettenberg](https://twitter.com/plettigoal/status/1538933386219339778?s=21&t=ZFL5t8bxAlr1-ays49Shag) recently revealed that Adams, who was previously described as a [‘massive’](https://www.bundesliga.com/en/bundesliga/news/ceiling-is-massive-for-tyler-adams-rb-leipzig-jesse-marsch-4053) talent by Jesse Marsch, is on Leeds’ shortlist.

Leipzig are open to selling the 23-year-old, who was dubbed [‘one of a kind’](https://www.frontrowsoccer.com/2017/05/09/high-praise-ramos-tyler-adams-hes-one-kind/) by former USA star Tab Ramos, and it looks as if the Whites have made their move for the America international.

### The Latest: Talks underway

According to [The Transfer Exchange Show](https://twitter.com/TheTransferEx/status/1539144836510625793), Leeds have ‘started talks’ to sign Adams.

They claim that he is ‘seen as a replacement for Kalvin Phillips who has already stated his wish to join Manchester City’.

### The Verdict: Adams or Camara?

Leeds are rightly exploring replacements for Phillips, and it looks as if it could be between Adams and Red Bull Salzburg’s Mo Camara, who has also been [linked](https://mobile.twitter.com/LUFCFANZ0NE/status/1539198768578437121) with a move to Elland Road.

Both [Adams](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tyler-adams/detaillierteleistungsdaten/spieler/332705) and [Camara](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-camara/detaillierteleistungsdaten/spieler/543382) have Champions League experience and have both worked under Marsch, so it will be interesting to see who emerges as the Whites’ main target over the coming weeks.

They have seemingly made a first move for Adams by opening talks with Leipzig, so they could progress if Manchester City make a breakthrough in their pursuit of Phillips.
