# Leeds: Whites boosted in attempts to sign Douglas Costa

**Leeds United have been boosted in their attempts to sign Douglas Costa, with Juventus potentially allowing him to leave this summer.**

Marcelo Bielsa is expected to dip into the transfer market at the end of the season in order to add more quality and depth to his squad.

The Whites have done well in their first season back in the Premier League, [sitting 11th](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/table) at the moment, but that doesn’t mean new faces won’t arrive.

### Leeds handed boost in quest to sign Costa

According to [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/il-gremio-sogna-douglas-costa-la-posizione-di-juve-e-bayern-tutt-24560), Juventus are willing to allow the on-loan, [£10.8m-rated](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/douglas-costa/profil/spieler/75615) Bayern Munich star to leave on a free transfer this summer, despite his current deal not [expiring](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/douglas-costa/profil/spieler/75615) until next year.

The Serie A giants see no future for Costa at the club and his substantial wages are also proving to be problematic.

Blessed with [quick feet, great skill and a constant threat](https://www.bundesliga.com/en/bundesliga/news/sane-costa-gnabry-coman-bayern-munich-4-world-class-wingers-compared-13215) in the final third, the 30-year-old could bring another attacking dimension to Bielsa’s team if he comes to Yorkshire.
