# Leeds: Whites could still sign Hwang Hee-chan

**[Leeds United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/) could still sign Wolves forward Hwang Hee-chan on deadline day, according to Sky Sports reporter [Dharmesh Sheth](https://twitter.com/skysports_sheth?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor).**

### The Lowdown: Approach made

The Whites are desperate to bring in a new forward before tonight’s deadline after Rodrigo [dislocated his shoulder](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11162323/Leeds-face-injury-blow-form-Rodrigo-suffers-suspected-dislocated-shoulder-against-Everton.html) against Everton on Tuesday.

Phil Hay [shared news](https://theathletic.com/3553246/2022/08/31/wolves-leeds-united-hwang-hee-chan/) of an approach for Hwang on Wednesday, with Leeds [keen](https://theathletic.com/3553246/2022/08/31/wolves-leeds-united-hwang-hee-chan/) to bring the [68-goal](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/hee-chan-hwang/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/292246) forward to Elland Road. Wolves turned down a £17m move, which resulted in the Whites moving on to pursuing Cody Gakpo.

They had Victor Orta [in the Netherlands](https://twitter.com/RikElfrink/status/1565220691342917632) on Wednesday evening, but Gakpo is set to [stay](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1565254474939211776) with PSV Eindhoven in another blow for Leeds.

### The Latest: Sheth’s claim

In a story shared by [GiveMeSport](https://www.givemesport.com/88054509-leeds-could-seal-deadline-day-move-for-65-goal-star-at-elland-road) on Thursday morning, when Orta was on the way back to Yorkshire alone from Holland, Sheth said that Leeds could still go back in for Hwang.

The Sky Sports reporter stated:

> “The Wolves striker could be the one that they go for, in Hwang, simply because Sasa Kalajdzic of Stuttgart has completed his move to Wolves. I just wonder whether Wolves will now do business on Hwang.”

### The Verdict: Desperate

It is turning into a disastrous final few days for Leeds in the transfer window, and it appears as if there is a real possibility that the club will fail to bring in a new attacker for Jesse Marsch.

That could prove costly as thee season goes on, especially with Rodrigo sidelined and Patrick Bamford last completing 90 minutes in the Premier League [12 months ago](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/patrick-bamford/leistungsdaten/spieler/183334/plus/0?saison=2021).

As a result, a lot of pressure could be put on youngster Joe Gelhardt, but there is still time for Leeds to get a dramatic forward addition over the line – potentially Hwang.
