# Leeds: Whites expected to make Ryan Kent bid

**Leeds United are expected to make a fresh bid for Rangers star Ryan Kent this summer, as Marcelo Bielsa looks to bolster his wide options.**

### The Lowdown: Kent impresses for Rangers

Rangers have enjoyed great success under Steven Gerrard, winning the Scottish Premiership title last season, and Kent has been a big part of it.

The winger has [scored 27 goals in 134 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ryan-kent/alletore/spieler/279457) for Gerrard’s men, proving to be an influential attacking figure.

Leeds have been [linked](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-transfer-rumours/leeds-whites-could-sign-ryan-kent-for-20million/) with a move for Kent, who has tried his luck in the Premier League once before with Liverpool, and a fresh update has now been provided regarding the situation.

### The Latest: Leeds tipped to make bid

According to [*Football Insider*](https://www.footballinsider247.com/phillips-ryan-kent-unsettled-as-new-leeds-bid-comes-in-for-rangers-star/), a Rangers source has claimed they are expecting a bid from the Whites before Tuesday’s transfer cutoff, as Bielsa looks to make a late move in the window.

Kent has [two years remaining](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ryan-kent/profil/spieler/279457) on his current deal, but he may feel a new challenge is required.

### The Verdict: Strong competition out wide

Leeds look slightly light out wide, with Raphinha and Jack Harrison undisputed key men, but someone like Helder Costa acting as a mediocre backup, [scoring just three times](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/118127/History/H%C3%A9lder-Costa) in the Premier League last season.

Ian Poveda has left on loan meanwhile, meaning an injury to the likes of Harrison or Raphinha would leave the options dangerously thin.

The [£12.6million-rated](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ryan-kent/profil/spieler/279457) Kent could be an upgrade, in that respect, not necessarily coming in as a regular starter, but someone who can offer quality from the bench and allow Bielsa to rotate.
