# Leeds: Whites ‘have made an offer’ for Calvin Ramsay

**Leeds United have tabled a deadline day offer for young Aberdeen defender Calvin Ramsay, according to journalist Ryan Taylor.**

### The Lowdown: Ramsay linked with Leeds move

The Whites have had a quiet January transfer window overall but one player who has been [linked](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-transfer-rumours/leeds-whites-in-pole-position-to-sign-calvin-ramsay/) with a move to the club is Ramsay.

The 18-year-old right-back has enjoyed an impressive season for Aberdeen so far, [registering four assists](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/403764/Show/Calvin-Ramsay) in 12 Scottish Premiership starts.

There is still just enough time for Ramsay to secure a move to Leeds and that could possibly be on the cards after an update from [Daily Express](https://twitter.com/RyanTaylorSport?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor) journalist Taylor.

### The Latest: Whites submit bid

Speaking on [*YouTube*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=cdgpRd_9XWg&feature=emb_logo)  \[[*MOT Leeds News*](https://motleedsnews.com/news/taylor-on-ramsay-leeds-united-announcement/)\], Taylor confirmed that Leeds have made a bit for the young Scot’s services, with a transfer now possible before deadline day ends:

> “Calvin Ramsay at Aberdeen, Leeds have made an offer, it’s not sort of one of serious immediate ‘let’s get him through the door’ but long-term for the club’s vision, Ramsay’s a really attractive option.
>
> “He’s been really impressive with Aberdeen, his defensive stats are sort of unbelievable really for a young prospect.
>
> “Leeds have come in at about £3million, it’s one to keep an eye on, I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened.”

### The Verdict: Good young addition

Ramsay looks a hugely exciting prospect with a bright future, having been [hailed](https://www.footballtransfers.com/en/transfer-news/sc-scottish-cup/2021/09/who-is-calvin-ramsay-dynamic-full-back-scouted-man-utd) as an ‘elite’ talent by Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack.

The fact that he is already shining in Scotland’s top league bodes well and it could be that Victor Orta sees him as a long-term replacement for Luke Ayling at Leeds, who is now 30 years of age and has missed [11 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luke-ayling/verletzungen/spieler/67420) this season through injury.

While Ramsay is unlikely to be thrown straight into Marcelo Bielsa’s squad if he signs, a spell in the Under-23s could allow him to adapt to his new surroundings before making the step up next season.
