# Leeds: Whites keen on Ben Brereton-Diaz

**Leeds United are keen on a move for Blackburn Rovers forward Ben Brereton-Diaz, [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12573918/paul-pogba-erling-haaland-kylian-mbappe-vivianne-miedema-declan-rice-50-players-who-could-move-in-the-summer-transfer-window) report.**

### The Lowdown: Brereton-Diaz’s 2021/22

Brereton-Diaz, who can play [anywhere](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ben-brereton-diaz/profil/spieler/426192) across the frontline, has enjoyed a prolific campaign in front of goal in the Championship.

The 22-year-old has scored [20](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ben-brereton-diaz/leistungsdaten/spieler/426192) times in [30](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ben-brereton-diaz/leistungsdaten/spieler/426192) second-tier appearances but has missed the last seven games with ankle ligament damage.

The Chile international has turned out as a [left-winger and as a centre-forward](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ben-brereton-diaz/leistungsdaten/spieler/426192) under Tony Mowbray, who has dubbed the versatile forward as a [‘wonderful talent’](https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2020/october/gaffer-reserves-special-praise-for-his-two-young-gems/).

### The Latest: Leeds interest

[Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12573918/paul-pogba-erling-haaland-kylian-mbappe-vivianne-miedema-declan-rice-50-players-who-could-move-in-the-summer-transfer-window) shared a story on Tuesday evening, looking at 50 players who could be on the move over the coming months.

When it came to Brereton-Diaz, Leeds were the only side name-checked with an interest. His Ewood Park contract expires in the [summer](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ben-brereton-diaz/profil/spieler/426192), although Blackburn have an option to extend that by a further [12 months,](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ben-brereton-diaz/profil/spieler/426192) and could then decide to cash in over the summer.

### The Verdict: Makes sense?

Leeds are short of central attacking options at this moment in time, especially with star striker Patrick Bamford missing the majority of the season through injury.

Therefore, making a move for Brereton-Diaz, who can also play on the wing when required, could be a shrewd call.

He is also represented by [Wasserman](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wasserman/beraterfirma/berater/440), the same agency as Crysencio Summerville, Adam Forshaw, Sam Greenwood, Charlie Cresswell, Jack Jenkins and Mateo Fernandez, so that could make a transfer easier when it comes to discussions.

Of course, the Whites will need to agree on a fee with Blackburn if they trigger that 12-month extension, but this could be one to keep a close eye on.
