### Transfer Tavern take

The importance of having top-quality depth in the Premier League is huge, with small squads often found wanting as the season progresses. Given the relentless nature of Phillips’ role, with [endless running](https://totalfootballanalysis.com/article/kalvin-phillips-the-lynchpin-of-leeds-united-2019-20-scout-report-tactical-analysis-tactics) required, it makes perfect sense to sign someone who is capable of dovetailing with the 25-year-old, who has started [every league match for which he has been available](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kalvin-phillips/leistungsdaten/spieler/351749) this term.
