# Leeds: Whites planning big pay rise for Jack Harrison

**[Leeds United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/) are planning to sit down with Jack Harrison over a new Elland Road deal and make him one of the club’s top earners, [90min](https://www.90min.com/posts/leeds-hoping-to-tie-jack-harrison-down-to-new-contract) report.**

### The Lowdown: Harrison’s bright start to the season

Harrison was heavily linked with an exit over the summer, with Newcastle [reportedly](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/newcastle-united-news/newcastle-transfer-news-magpies-have-made-jack-harrison-offer-leeds-united/) making a big-money offer for the winger.

As we know, the 25-year-old remained in Yorkshire and has begun the campaign in fine form, contributing to [four](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jack-harrison/leistungsdaten/spieler/417346) Premier League goals in the club’s first [six](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jack-harrison/leistungsdaten/spieler/417346) games.

He wasn’t rewarded with a place in Gareth Southgate’s recent England squad, though, with [WhoScored](https://twitter.com/WhoScored/status/1570415892222988288) rating him as the top performing Englishman not to get a call-up.

### The Latest: Contract update

According to [90min](https://www.90min.com/posts/leeds-hoping-to-tie-jack-harrison-down-to-new-contract), Leeds are planning to sit down with Harrison and his representatives before January.

They claim that the Whites are ‘ready to pay him his worth as one of the club’s top players’.

### The Verdict: Smart move

Harrison is into the final two years of his current contract, so now is the perfect time to talk about an extension following interest from Newcastle in the summer.

The forward appears to be improving with every season in Yorkshire and he’s been the club’s best-performing starter this season, as per [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/19/Show/England-Leeds).

Therefore, it’s safe to say he has earned a pay rise on his current [£15,000-a-week](https://fbref.com/en/squads/5bfb9659/2021-2022/wages/Leeds-United-Wage-Details) salary, so hopefully, talks can go smoothly and an extension can be signed before the winter window opens.
