# Leeds: Whites tipped to consider Boubacar Kamara swoop

**Leeds United have been tipped to consider moving for Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara this summer, [LeedsLive](https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/five-free-agents-leeds-united-23682249) report.**

### The Lowdown: January interest

Kamara was [linked](https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/marseille-midfielder-boubacar-kamara-linked-22632593) with a move to Elland Road in January, where a fee in the region of £10m would have reportedly been enough due to his contract situation.

However, as we know, Victor Orta failed to make any senior signings for the club, despite [speaking to Kamara’s agent](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10432731/Newcastle-eyeing-potential-January-transfer-window-Dele-Alli-Jesse-Lingard.html).

The 22-year-old remained with the Ligue 1 side and has continued to be a [regular](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/boubacar-kamara/leistungsdaten/spieler/394327) but is set to become a free agent at the end of [June](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/boubacar-kamara/profil/spieler/394327).

### The Latest: Leeds move?

[LeedsLive](https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/five-free-agents-leeds-united-23682249) reporter Danny Bloomer shared a story on Thursday morning, looking at five free agents the Whites could be interested in this summer.

One of those is Kamara, who is described as a perfect partner for Kalvin Phillips.

The report says he definitely won’t be extending his deal with Marseille, with the midfielder possibly a player the Whites could make a huge profit on further down the line.

### The Verdict: Get it done

Due to Kamara’s contract situation, Leeds could actually secure a pre-contract agreement right now ahead of a free transfer in the summer.

It appears to be a no-brainer, especially with Jesse Marsch extremely [short of midfield options](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leeds-united/kader/verein/399) at Elland Road. Andrea Radrizzani wouldn’t need to fork out a fee, which could allow the club to table an extremely tempting offer for Kamara, who is on [£46,000-a-week](https://salarysport.com/football/player/boubacar-kamara/) at this moment in time.

He’s already made [161](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/boubacar-kamara/leistungsdaten/spieler/394327) senior appearances for Marseille at the age of 22 and is valued at [£22.5m](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/boubacar-kamara/profil/spieler/394327), so a cut-price move to Yorkshire could prove to be a major coup.
