# Leeds: Whites want to sign Noah Okafor

**[Leeds United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-news/) and AC Milan are reportedly battling it out to sign Red Bull Salzburg striker Noah Okafor.**

### The Lowdown: Okafor profiled

Okafor is 22 years of age and is [primarily](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/noah-okafor/profil/spieler/346890) a centre-forward who can also play on the wing.

A Switzerland international with Nigerian citizenship, Okafor has contributed to [ten](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/noah-okafor/leistungsdaten/spieler/346890) goals in [14](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/noah-okafor/leistungsdaten/spieler/346890) games this season, netting [three](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/noah-okafor/leistungsdaten/spieler/346890) times in as many games in the Champions League.

Talent scout [Jacek Kulig](https://twitter.com/FTalentScout/status/1570154651516915712) labelled the forward ‘incredibly prolific’ and in ‘crazy form’ last month, and it looks as if his displays have caught the eye of Leeds officials.

### The Latest: Leeds interest

Italian outlet [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/milan-c-e-concorrenza-per-okafor-27351) provided an update regarding Okafor on Thursday evening.

They name-checked both AC Milan and Leeds with an interest in the forward, who is under contract until [2024](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/noah-okafor/profil/spieler/346890).

### The Verdict: Gakpo alternative?

The Whites still want to sign [Cody Gakpo](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1565254474939211776) in the New Year after missing out in the summer, however, you’d expect his [incredible form](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/cody-gakpo/leistungsdaten/spieler/434675) this season will attract interest from plenty of clubs who can offer Champions League football.

Therefore, Okafor could well be a smart alternative and looks like an extremely exciting talent following his start to the season.

He is valued at a career-high £16.2m by [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/noah-okafor/profil/spieler/346890) and previously contributed to [17](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/noah-okafor/leistungsdatentrainer/spieler/346890) goals in [44](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/noah-okafor/leistungsdatentrainer/spieler/346890) games under Jesse Marsch, so this could be one to watch over the coming months.
