# Leeds: Yet more rumours that Helder Costa will leave

**Helder Costa will leave Leeds United at the end of the season, according to former Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell.**

### The Lowdown: Costa a periphery figure

Leeds have had a strong season back in the Premier League, with Marcelo Bielsa having a number of key performers throughout the campaign.

In truth, Costa hasn’t been one of them, however, only making [13 starts](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/118127/Show/H%C3%A9lder-Costa) in the league and playing second fiddle on the wings to the likes of Raphinha and Jack Harrison.

There is constant [speculation](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/leeds-united-transfer-rumours/leeds-helder-costa-tipped-for-summer-exit/) surrounding the 27-year-old’s future, with a move away from Elland Road mooted a number of times in recent months.

### The Latest: Pundit tips Costa to leave

Speaking to [*Football Insider*](https://www.footballinsider247.com/campbell-predicts-costa-exit-as-leeds-lay-foundations-for-two-forward-signings/), Campbell outlined his reasoning for the Portuguese moving on this summer:

> “There’s seems to be a lot of interest in wingers from Leeds so maybe they are resigned to Costa leaving at the end of the season.

> “He’s out injured at the moment so he hasn’t even got the chance to impress in the final few games.

> “Things may have turned a bit sour inside the club for the player and if that is the case, fair enough. These things happen in football.
>
> “I am sure Costa will get picked up. He is a decent player and he has played a lot of games in the Premier League. There will be some clubs interested for sure.”

### The Verdict: Time to move on

Costa is a very talented winger – one who Huddersfield Town defender Harry Toffolo once [described (via One Football)](https://onefootball.com/en/news/harry-toffolo-raves-about-leeds-united-winger-helder-costa-29400813?variable=2020-03-08T11:05:10Z) as ‘exceptional’ after squaring off against him – but he is not a key man for Leeds now.

Others have gone above him in the pecking order and it seems clear that Marcelo Bielsa doesn’t necessarily trust his all-round game, with Trent Alexander-Arnold running off him a number of times in the recent 1-1 draw with Liverpool.

Leeds should be able to get a decent fee for the winger, so moving him on will not only benefit them, but the player himself could be a regular starter elsewhere.
