Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be delighted that the club are edging closer to a new manager for the 11th time in five years.
Marcelo Bielsa is believed to be on the verge of signing a one year deal to take over at Elland Road this summer, yet it has been reported by TyC Sports that he will have the option to renew it for a further season if he chooses to do so.
The former Argentina and Chile international manager, who also has a wealth of experience at club level, has not previously managed in England and, with the Championship being considered one of the hardest leagues to navigate, many of the locals will be keen to see just how well he does in charge of the Whites.
The punters will expect the 62-year-old to guide them back to the Premier League, yet with Leeds’ track-record when it comes to managers, it would not be an irrational thought to believe Bielsa will not be at the club come the end of this year’s campaign.
Landlord’s Verdict: The Leeds fans in the Tavern will be delighted that they are close to appointing a new manager, and will be expecting for him to make an impact on the side as quickly as possible.
The locals will want to see him make a number of additions to help improve their chances and will be willing to give a manager of his calibre the required time to get things right – however, it will remain to be seen if the board share that opinion as well.
