**Leicester City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are backing Claudio Ranieri to replace their Premier League title-winning players as their heroes are being poached by other clubs.**

According to the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/leicester-city-closing-12million-nice-8211439), The Foxes are close to agreeing the [£12m](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/leicester-city-closing-12million-nice-8211439) signing of Nice midfielder Nampalys Mendy, who in fact is the man they wanted instead of N’Golo Kante last summer.

Chelsea are firm favourites to land the Frenchman after a sensational maiden campaign in England and it’s up to Ranieri to find a suitable replacement.

Now, it [looks](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/leicester-city-closing-12million-nice-8211439) as though that man is Mendy, who has impressed at Nice last season after helping them secure Europa League football for next season.

Similarly to the Foxes, he is a tough tackling and a hardworking midfielder and he is set to be a like for like replacement for him, though there’s little doubt the *Les Blues* star will be hard to replace in the engine room.

The 23-year old has just one year remaining on his current deal and it is being reported he is keen on a move to the Premier League.

**Leicester fans. Do you think Nampalys Mendy will be a suitable replacement for N’Golo Kante? Let us know your thoughts below.**
