In an exclusive interview with The Transfer Tavern, former Leicester City striker Brian Deane has urged Tammy Abraham to ditch Stamford Bridge for the King Power this summer.
The Chelsea forward has barely featured following Thomas Tuchel’s arrival in January and is now being linked with a move away from the club.
And, according to Fabrizio Romano, Leicester are one outfit who are interested in signing Abraham should Chelsea decide to sell him in the next transfer window.
Would Abraham be a good signing?
£36m-rated Abraham really impressed last season, scoring 15 goals in the Premier League as he was finally given the chance to lead the line for the Blues following loan spells at Aston Villa and Swansea City.
On the rumours that Abraham could join Leicester in the summer, Deane told TT:
“They’ve got players like [Youri] Tielemans and the rest of them. It would be a fantastic place for someone like Tammy Abraham, to be honest. They’ll have Kelechi Iheanacho, they’ll have [Jamie] Vardy and they’ll have him. I mean, for me, if I was a young forward, I’d love to play under Brendan Rodgers.”
With Abraham struggling for game time and Chelsea continuing to be linked to big-name forwards like Sergio Aguero, a Stamford Bridge exit for the England international is starting to look inevitable.
