Leicester City have been handed an injury boost after Brendan Rodgers confirmed that Wilfred Ndidi is available for the Premier League game vs Manchester City on Saturday.

The Lowdown: Hamstring concerns

The Foxes secured an emphatic 4-0 victory over Wolves last weekend, but had to do so without the services of the tough-tackling midfielder.

The 25-year-old has been ruled out of action ever since sustaining a hamstring injury against Nottingham Forest earlier this month, though it sounds like he is now ready to stage a comeback at the King Power.

The Latest: Ndidi fitness update

Speaking during his pre-match press conference, Rodgers revealed that Ndidi has returned to full training and is in contention to face Pep Guardiola’s side.

As quoted by the club’s official website, he said:

"Wilfred Ndidi has been back training with the squad. The most important thing is he’s back training in the squad and he’s looked fine with the players.

"Availability is the important thing and thankfully he’s available.”

The Verdict: Boost for Rodgers

Leicester having Ndidi back at their disposal will be a massive boost for the Northern Irish boss, who will know how much of a key player he is in the centre of the park.

The Nigerian ‘beast’, as labelled by football talent scout Jacek Kulig, was averaging 1.9 clearances, 1.8 tackles and 1.5 interceptions per league game prior to his injury, alongside recording an 87.8% pass success rate (WhoScored).

The Foxes have now climbed out of the relegation zone following back-to-back victories, and the return of Ndidi will surely only keep that strong run of performances going.
