Leicester City are interested in completing the signing of Inter Milan left-back Robin Gosens, according to a transfer report which has emerged.

The Lowdown: Gosens on the move?

The German has struggled for the Nerazzurri since joining on loan in January and then signing permanently in the summer, failing to replicate his performances for Atalanta.

Gosens scored 12 goals and registered six assists during the 2020/21 season - a superb tally for a wing-back - and he became a mainstay of his country's team at Euro 2020, playing in all four of their matches at the tournament and delivering a memorable performance against Portugal.

However, it looks as though Inter are willing to let the 28-year-old depart in the January transfer window, and a move to the Premier League could materialise.

The Latest: Leicester keen on Gosens

According to FC Inter News, Leicester are keen on the idea of snapping up Gosens, who apparently had been keen on a move to the King Power Stadium two years ago.

The defender is valued at £25.2m by Transfermarkt and was once described as 'amazing' by former Germany manager Joachim Low following his impact at international level.

The Verdict: Could be a great addition

Gosens could be a hugely positive prospective signing for Leicester, at a time when a fresh injection of quality seems badly needed in a squad low on confidence under Brendan Rodgers.

While the German's time at Inter hasn't yet panned out as he would have hoped, his aforementioned statistics for Atalanta show exactly what he is capable of producing.

Gosens is a proven international who now has 14 caps to his name for his country, and he could start for Germany at the World Cup.

Therefore, it makes perfect sense for Leicester to try and bring him in during the January transfer window, especially if the player himself might fancy a move to the Premier League.
