Express & Star journalist Luke Hatfield believes West Bromwich Albion talisman Matheus Pereira could be on Leicester City's books by the time the transfer window shuts.

Pereira has been on the radar of a host of Premier League clubs, including the Foxes and West Ham United, since West Brom suffered relegation to the Championship last season.

The interest comes after the Brazilian scored 12 goals and recorded six assists despite the Baggies' struggles.

Valerien Ismael, who succeeded Sam Allardyce as West Brom's head coach in June, has already admitted he expects Pereira to leave the Hawthorns before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Pereira, who completed a permanent move to the Baggies last year following a successful loan spell from Portuguese outfit Sporting, has also taken to social media to confirm he wants to leave the club.

Hatfield believes Leicester, as well as Premier League rivals West Ham United, could be two seriously interested parties.

He told The Transfer Tavern: "Leicester is an interesting one because, if Albrighton doesn't hang around there, they need a winger. Pereira can play there.

"I can see Leicester or West Ham going for him - teams who are battling to get into those Champions League places as opposed to those who are already there."
