According to an exclusive report from The Sun, Leicester City are eyeing a transfer swoop for ex-Inter Milan youngster Ryan Nolan, who currently plays for Serie C outfit Arezzo and is seen as a real prospect for the future.
The Irish defender, who hails from Shannon in County Clare, was allegedly ‘on the cusp’ of the Nerazzurri first team at one stage and was even named in Europa League matchday squads for the Italian giants during the 2018/19 season.
However, current Inter manager Antonio Conte clearly didn’t see much in the 6ft 2 stalwart and let him go immediately upon arrival, but this report claims that Leicester could offer him a way back to potential stardom.
The Sun stated that Arezzo are ‘happy’ to let the centre-back leave but will include a hefty sell-on clause in any deal, with Leicester now leading the race for his signature amid reports of a defensive reshuffle.
First team defenders Caglar Soyuncu and Ben Chilwell are being consistently linked with moves away from the King Power Stadium of late, and manager Brendan Rodgers may need to plan for the future if these prospective transfers come to fruition.
Is Ryan Nolan the man to challenge Soyuncu and Evans?
Yes, a lot of potential
Leeds United could have snapped up Nolan last summer but the move fell through when manager Marcelo Bielsa disclosed that he would be loaned out to Scottish side Falkirk.
Nolan, who wishes to challenge for first team football at top-flight level, will have to oust the likes of Soyuncu and Jonny Evans for a starting place in the Foxes back four.
