Leicester City have registered their interest in signing Lille midfielder Jonathan Ikone this summer.

That's according to Le10 Sport (via Sport Witness), who have revealed that the club are willing to let the Frenchman leave amid interest from both the Foxes and Premier League rivals Chelsea.

The Ligue 1 outfit are reportedly waiting on the decision of Ikone before listening to offers, but if the 22-year-old is happy to leave this summer, Lille will turn their attention to bids tabled for his services.

An official transfer fee has not been named in the report, but according to Transfermarkt, Ikone is currently valued at £32.4million.

The attacking midfielder was ever-present in Lille's league run last season, contributing a total of nine goalscoring opportunities (three goals and six assists). Leicester would do well to recruit someone else who can contribute from midfield and help Jamie Vardy get on the end of some dangerous balls.

The Foxes must rival Chelsea for Ikone's signature if they are serious about adding him to their ranks this summer. If they are, this could be a very interesting transfer story.

Frank Lampard's side are on the cusp of snatching prized asset Ben Chilwell from the King Power Stadium, despite Rodgers and Co eager to keep hold of him. However, unfortunately for Leicester, Roman Abramovich has backed Lampard's pursuit of the left-back and is willing to pay a minimum of £50million for the England international.

So not only will Ikone help bolster Leicester's midfield, but it would be a small piece of revenge for the Blues coaxing Chilwell away from his boyhood club.
