# Leicester City wary of Chelsea bid for superstar, deal could happen

**Having already landed N’Golo Kante, the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are rather understandably excited about the new season.**

Despite the ongoing circus in Manchester, the Blues have plucked one of Leicester City’s title heroes from their perch, much to the delight of those in West London.

Though the Foxes have held off interest from Arsenal in Jamie Vardy, reports from [Bleacher Report](https://twitter.com/br_uk/status/763404443274452992) suggest the Premier League champions fear another raid emanating out of Stamford Bridge.

According to [BR](https://twitter.com/br_uk/status/763404443274452992), the East Midlands club are wary of the spending power available to new manger Antonio Conte as they continue to be [linked](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/riyad-mahrez-spotted-chelsea-hotel-8594508) with a move for Riyad Mahrez.

Though Arsenal are [said](https://twitter.com/br_uk/status/763404443274452992) to be out of the race for the 24-year old, the reported [£45m](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/07/18/leicester-confident-riyad-mahrez-will-stay-but-would-ask-for-mor/) asking price placed on the former Le Harve ace may not be a stumbling block for Chelsea.

For their part, Leicester are [understood](https://twitter.com/br_uk/status/763404443274452992) to have tabled an improved contract to their star turn in an effort to keep him at the club.

**Will Leicester City be able to keep a hold of Mahrez? Is he really what Chelsea need? Let us know below…**
