Having played in the UEFA Champions League [nine](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mady-camara/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/481173/plus/0?saison=&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=CL&pos=&trainer_id=) times with Olympiacos, Camara has the experience of playing at the highest level, while he is also capped [21](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mady-camara/nationalmannschaft/spieler/481173) times by Guinea.

At 25 years of age, he is a player who will be in his prime over the next few seasons, and sharing the [same agent](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/caa-base-ltd/beraterfirma/berater/674) as January signings Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood, this is a deal that the Magpies should be confident that they can get over the line ahead of their rivals.
