**Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has all but ruled out a move for Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Willian.**

The Blues had been linked with a £20 million move for the Brazilian winger as Villas-Boas looks to continue a Chelsea rebuild this month, but it now seems that AVB will look elsewhere.

Willian is a quick and direct winger with an eye for goal. He is a very skilful player and can player on either side, or just behind the striker. This makes him a perfect fit for the Chelsea revolution, as he is only 23 and will give the West-Londoners’ attack a real boost.

Shakhtar were even willing to open negotiations with Chelsea, but the stumbling block will be the fact that Willian is cup-tied for the Champions League. He played in several group games as Shakhtar were knocked out and Villas-Boas insists he won’t sign anyone who is unavailable, according to *[Goal.com](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2012/01/21/2858904/chelsea-boss-andre-villas-boas-rules-out-bids-for-cup-tied)*.

He said: “Willian is a very interesting player but he is cup-tied in the Champions League and I don’t think we should go for players who cannot be involved in all competitions.

“Again, I’m not stressed on what we can do in this transfer window. If a good opportunity arises we could study it but at the moment we are very satisfied.”

That opportunity could now be Eden Hazard. All of Europe’s top clubs have been linked with the prodigious Belgian, but recent reports say that Chelsea are at the top of the queue and *[The People](https://www.people.co.uk/sport/football/football-hotline/2012/01/22/chelsea-keep-close-eye-on-25m-target-edin-hazard-102039-23711259/)* claim that technical director Michael Emenalo was in France to watch Hazard this week.
