# Levy baulks at £25m Spurs deal after talks, star wants move

**With Vincent Janssen and Victor Wanyama already through the door at White Hart Lane, the Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern are all but dancing on the pool tables.**

The insatiable nature of the transfer window fails to subside though and our North London locals are as hungry as ever for more. And more.

Amid links with Newcastle United midfielder Geroginio Wijnaldum, who is understood to want a move to the club, reports from the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3690989/Georginio-Wijnaldum-tops-Tottenham-wish-list-Newcastle-hold-firm-25m-price.html) have come as a blow to the punters.

They [suggest](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3690989/Georginio-Wijnaldum-tops-Tottenham-wish-list-Newcastle-hold-firm-25m-price.html) chairman Daniel Levy has baulked at the Toon Army’s [£25m](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3690989/Georginio-Wijnaldum-tops-Tottenham-wish-list-Newcastle-hold-firm-25m-price.html) valuation of the Dutch midfielder, after making tentative enquiries to those in the North East.

Everton are also [understood](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3690989/Georginio-Wijnaldum-tops-Tottenham-wish-list-Newcastle-hold-firm-25m-price.html) to be interested in the 25-year old, though Spurs are [said](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3690989/Georginio-Wijnaldum-tops-Tottenham-wish-list-Newcastle-hold-firm-25m-price.html) to have identified an attacking midfielder as their final target this summer.

With Champions League football on offer for the first time in years, the notion of rubbing shoulders with the continent’s elite is [thought](https://twitter.com/DeanJonesBR/status/753558277208801280) to be extremely tempting for the former PSV ace.

> Georginio Wijnaldum has marked Spurs as his No1 destination if he leaves Newcastle. Has a £25m price-tag though – and Toon won't drop it
