# Liverpool: Fans hail Thiago vs Wolves

**Many Liverpool fans showered Thiago Alcantara with praise for his performance in Saturday’s victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.**

The Reds took three points from Molineux courtesy of Divock Origi’s stoppage-time winner, leapfrogging Chelsea at the top of the table after they were beaten by West Ham United earlier in the day.

Thiago [started his fifth consecutive match in all competitions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/thiago/leistungsdaten/spieler/60444), lining up alongside Fabinho and Jordan Henderson in midfield.

### Thiago’s Wolves performance in numbers

The Spaniard earned a [SofaScore](https://www.sofascore.com/liverpool-wolverhampton/dsU) rating of 7.1/10, having recorded 105 touches – more than anybody else on the pitch.

He completed seven of the 10 long passes he attempted and created a chance for Trent Alexander-Arnold in the first half with an [‘excellent’](https://twitter.com/MattAddison97/status/1467157025423507459) pick-out. On the other side of the ball, he was able to chip in with two tackles and two interceptions.

The [Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-player-ratings-wolves-breaking-22365744)‘s Ian Doyle picked him out as the visitors’ man of the match, and here’s what a selection of Reds fans on Twitter had to say about the 30-year-old’s ‘MOTM’ display.
