Our French friends have made a splash in The Transfer Tavern by spreading rumours that Lyon are desperate to land Toulouse striker André Pierre Gignac as a replacement for Karim Benzema.
OL have a €35 million hole burning in their pockets and popular French radio station RMC reckon they’ve chucked €17 million on the table of their Ligue 1 rivals for Gignac.
RMC report that Toulouse president Olivier Sadran is holding firm for now, having insisted that French International Gignac is going nowhere.
So have our Gallic cousins been indulging in an early apéritif? Or is Gignac the man to bring the French title back to Lyon? Should this rumour Fly or Die?
