It’s all happening in The Transfer Tavern this morning with the news that Ligue 1 side Lyon are on the verge of splashing the cash on a replacement for star striker Karim Benzema.
The L’Equipe newspaper reports that Saint-Etienne frontman Bafetimbi Gomis could complete a move to OL “in the next few hours.”
“According to L’Equipe sources, the player could swap shirts shortly, with Lyon having offered €15 million and Saint-Etienne holding out for €17 million: not an insurmountable difference.”
Lyon are also chasing Fenerbahçe’s Spanish striker Daniel Güiza, says the article. Fellow target Loïc Rémy, however, looks unlikely to leave Nice after a club official poured cold water over the rumour.
So how many shandies led to this story? Are Lyon really set for yet another big-money signing with the capture of the Les Verts striker? Should this rumour Fly or Die?
