# ‘Like a right-footed Sinclair’, ‘please no’ – Celtic fans not sure about Rodgers’ latest target

**With a trophy treble within reaching distance, as well as an unbeaten domestic season, and Brendan Rodgers committed to the club long-term, Celtic fans** **have** **been very vocal in the Transfer Tavern of late.**

Indeed, they have plenty to be happy about, with the Glasgow giants heading in the right direction after some relatively miserable years under Ronny Deila – albeit he did secure Premiership titles.

The [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4403398/Celtic-hand-Brendan-Rodgers-15m-transfer-boost.html) have already claimed that Rodgers may be backed with around £15m to spend this summer to get in some top-class players and rumours originating from [Gianluca Di Marzio](https://gianlucadimarzio.com/it/sunderland-borini-richiesto-dal-celtic) in Italy suggest that Sunderland’s Fabio Borini is a target.

The one-cap Italy international worked under Rodgers at Chelsea, Swansea and Liverpool, but has lost his way a little in recent seasons. Celtic fans are, naturally, having their say on this with some positive about the speculation…

> [@CelticBible](https://twitter.com/CelticBible) Could be like a right footed Sinclair for us. Would be cracking player in the Hoops under Brendan.

> [@FocusOnCeltic](https://twitter.com/FocusOnCeltic) Look what the manager has done with Sinclair, I trust him with anyone he wants to sign. Not let us down yet

> [@CelticBible](https://twitter.com/CelticBible) He’s just turn 26 so his best years are ahead, Brendan would get the best out of him aswell. Wages maybe an issue tho

Alas, just as many fans are wary of signing Borini on the back of his decline…

> [@Record\_Sport](https://twitter.com/Record_Sport) Can’t see where he would fit in. never been prolific but we have 3 who are. BR turned around Sinclair so if true should be interesting! HH

> [@jameswatt1967](https://twitter.com/jameswatt1967) [@CelticBible](https://twitter.com/CelticBible) I’m personally not a fan of him. Hasn’t nailed down a specific role or been overly prolific at any club he’s been at. For me he’s a generic

> [@CelticBible](https://twitter.com/CelticBible) BR has worked with him previously, bIt of a gamble IMO but so was Dembele & it’s worked out

> [@FocusOnCeltic](https://twitter.com/FocusOnCeltic) He’s nothing exciting and very over rated. Defo not a good buy. He’s not even a goalscorer either. BAD BUY
