# Liveprool injury addressed by club boss as bad luck continues

**The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are still drowning their sorrows after their thumping at the hands of Manchester City over the course of the weekend.**

Indeed, though our resident Reds do understand the fact it probably wasn’t the biggest marker as to where they are right now, it was still a gut-wrenching sight at the Etihad. So, as if this weekend wasn’t bad enough already, the prospect of another injury hasn’t gone down well today.

As reported on the club’s [official website](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/274790-danny-ings-u23s-withdrawal-a-precaution), Danny Ings was substituted in a U23 game after complaining of discomfort.

The one-cap England international has suffered an injury-plagued two years at Anfield after joining from Burnley and was taken off in the first-half in a win over Manchester City. However, U23 manager Neil Critchley indicated the 25-year-old was taken off merely as a precaution, something our local Liverpudlians are hoping is true, for the player more than anything.

“It’s more a precaution than anything,” the U23s boss [told](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/274790-danny-ings-u23s-withdrawal-a-precaution) Liverpoolfc.com.

“He felt something very early in the game and he wasn’t quite right, so we’re not taking any chances with Danny and there are plenty of first-team games to come.

“We’ll just look after him and assess him, but I’m sure he’ll be fine.”

**Landlord’s Verdict:**

Ings would presumably struggle to get into this Liverpool team, though it’s important to see him back as soon as possible.

He’s suffered terrible luck since joining and the 25-year-old can provide an extra dimension up front, if he ever gets back to his best.

**Thoughts?**
