# Liverpool and Arsenal hoping to secure big summer transfer, offers have already been submitted

***The Liverpool and Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have both had mixed seasons this year…***

Both began with huge expectations, with Jurgen Klopp and Arsene Wenger touted to achieve success this year, but both have reached the final hurdle with a fairly disappointing set of results to look back upon – with neither in the title race at present.

With the end of a season comes renewed opportunity, though, and it seems as though both clubs have got their eye on a similar target ahead of a new title challenge next season.

[According to BILD](https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/sead-kolasinac/wettbieten-um-kolasinac-50932326.bild.html), Liverpool and Arsenal are two of six clubs to have made an offer for Schalke star Sead Kolasinac. Interestingly, Kolasinac’s contract [reportedly](https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/sead-kolasinac/wettbieten-um-kolasinac-50932326.bild.html) expires at the end of the season, and so the offers made by each club have been made directly to the player’s representatives.

Certainly, both clubs have a real need for him. From Liverpool’s perspective, James Milner is not a long-term solution at left-back, and Klopp certainly will sign a new player in his place this summer. For Arsenal, Nacho Monreal has been poor this year – and so Kolasinac could be the perfect replacement.

Our landlord is expecting a big summer from both of these clubs.
