# Liverpool: Divock Origi closes in on AC Milan move

**Liverpool forward Divock Origi is reportedly on the verge of sealing a move to Serie A giants AC Milan, with the transfer ‘close’ to being completed.**

### The Lowdown: Constant exit rumours

The Belgian has had to accept being a bit-part player for the Reds this season, only managing a total of [five starts](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/124688/Show/Divock-Origi) in all competitions.

Origi has been constantly [linked](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/liverpool-fc-news/divock-origi-concrete-transfer-target-milan/) with a move to Milan in recent weeks, with his current Liverpool contract [expiring](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/profil/spieler/148368) at the end of the season and a new deal not expected to come his way.

A new update suggests the transfer could be even further down the line than we first realised.

### The Latest: Deal almost done

According to [*Corriere dello Sport*](https://www.corrieredellosport.it/) \[via [*Sport Witness*](https://sportwitness.co.uk/club-now-close-signing-liverpool-player-talks-expected-next-hours-complete-move/)\], Origi is now ‘very close’ to joining Milan, with an agreement already ‘reached’ on wages. The only thing left is ‘some contractual details’ before a deal is complete.

The 26-year-old now looks almost certain to be plying his trade in Italy next season, bringing an end to a memorable Liverpool career.

### The Verdict: A true Reds cult hero

Origi will forever be remembered fondly by Reds supporters, with his impact in big games ensuring his legacy will always be seen as a positive one. Some may even claim he is a club legend, given his influence.

Those goals against the likes of Barcelona, Tottenham, Everton and Newcastle United were huge moments during the Jurgen Klopp era – even the late winner at Wolves earlier this season could prove to be so pivotal if Liverpool win the Premier League title.

It is only right that Origi enjoys a fresh challenge and more regular playing time, though, with the Belgium international too good to be warming the substitutes’ bench every week.
