# Liverpool eye shock candidate as Suarez transfer replacement

[![Eto'o.jpg](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Striker-Samuel-Etoo-500x340.jpg)](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Samuel-Etoo.jpg)The Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern could be set to finally welcome their Luis Suarez replacement.

That is because according to the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2722326/Samuel-Eto-o-Liverpool-s-radar-Brendan-Rodgers-continues-search-striker.html#ixzz3A7jBzSVX), the Reds have sounded out Samuel Eto’o as a potential replacement for the departed Uruguayan.\
\
Eto’o is available on a free transfer following his release from Jose. Mourinho’s Chelsea side at the end of last season and would provide experience to Brendan Rodgers’ squad.\
\
Rodgers has been looking for a ready-made striker to slot into this ranks since a deal for QPR’s Loic Remy collapsed after the Frenchman failed a medical.\
\
The three-time Champions League winner would bring great experience to Rodgers’ side, especially as they will be back playing in the competition after a five-year lull.\
\
Italian giants Inter Milan and Dutch outfit Ajax have also spoken to the player’s representatives in recent days but either are yet to tie down the former Barcelona striker.

### **Liverpool fans. At 33-years-old is Eto’o too much of a risk or does the fact he is available for free make him a gamble worth taking? Let us know your thoughts below.**
