# Liverpool: Fabrizio Romano confirms Sadio Mane latest

**[Fabrizio Romano](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1395827027253604359) has confirmed that Borussia Dortmund have no interest in signing Liverpool winger Sadio Mane.**

### The lowdown

[Daniel Nielson](https://twitter.com/fjonberg/status/1395465802531450884), a journalist from TV2 Danmark, reported on Thursday night that Dortmund were ‘watching’ the Champions League and Premier League-winning forward.

He claimed that a bid of €70m was going to be submitted ‘in the coming days’.

Mane has endured what he admits is the [worst season of his career](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/12303517/sadio-mane-liverpool-striker-says-this-is-worst-season-of-his-career) at Anfield.

With one Premier League game remaining, Mane sits on a tally of [just nine goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sadio-mane/leistungsdaten/spieler/200512), [half what he managed](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sadio-mane/leistungsdaten/spieler/200512/saison/2019/plus/1) in 2019/20 en route to the title.

Mane’s slump has been one of the reasons for Liverpool’s drop-off from a runaway lead to a top-four scrap.

Bundesliga journalist [Chris Williams](https://twitter.com/Chris78Williams/status/1395824026057072648) claimed that a Dortmund source has rubbished the speculation.

They would have to pay almost triple their current transfer record (the [£27.45million](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/borussia-dortmund/transferrekorde/verein/16) they paid to re-sign Mats Hummels from Bayern Munich in 2019) for a deal to be possible.

And Romano replied after that statement emerged by noting that Williams was ‘[correct as always](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1395827027253604359)‘.

### The verdict

Mane may have struggled this season, but Liverpool will surely regard it as a mere blip from a player who’s been operating at a world-class level for so long.

We shouldn’t forget that Eden Hazard, another left-winger, made a spectacular return to form in the 2016/17 season to help fire Chelsea to the title after looking a shadow of his former self in 15/16 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eden-hazard/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/50202)).

It’s all about that pre-season reset, something Mane could benefit from with no international football for Senegal this summer.
