### Transfer Tavern Verdict

From this information that Romano has provided, it appears that manager Jurgen Klopp is keen to keep Wijnaldum at Anfield and that the ball is entirely in the player’s court.

Looking at it from both sides, the player doesn’t really owe Liverpool any loyalty. He has achieved the two biggest trophies he can possibly win as a player in England.

With the [opportunity](https://liverpooloffside.sbnation.com/2021/1/19/22238434/liverpool-fc-transfer-news-gini-wijnaldum-signs-barcelona-pre-contract-spanish-report) to go and play for his compatriot Ronald Koeman in Barcelona, that may be too good to turn down at his age but whatever happens, Wijnaldum will deserve a rousing send-off.
