# Liverpool: Fans absolutely loved Borussia Dortmund’s banter with Barcelona

Borussia Dortmund’s official English language Twitter channel [@BlackYellow](https://twitter.com/BlackYellow/status/1167115620028243969) subsequently took the opportunity to remind Barcelona of a memorable moment from last season’s Champions League.

When the La Liga champions [lost 4-0 to Liverpool at Anfield](https://www.skysports.com/football/liverpool-vs-barcelona/406466) in the 2018/19 semi-finals, the fourth goal came from a quickly-taken corner by Trent Alexander-Arnold which was finished to the net by Divock Origi. \[[via Liverpool FC on YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buoMlAshKXQ)\]

That goal completed a remarkable comeback from Liverpool, who had been [beaten 3-0 in the first leg at Camp Nou](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/48112154) before overturning that deficit in dramatic style at Anfield a week later, and the Reds would go on to lift the Champions League trophy after defeating Tottenham 2-0 in the final in Madrid. \[[via BBC](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/48368443)\]

Borussia Dortmund, though, have also been on the end of a substantial Liverpool comeback in European competition.

In the 2016 Europa League quarter-finals, the teams [drew 1-1 in Germany](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/35980287) before [Dortmund took a 3-1 lead at Anfield](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/36020910).

Liverpool managed to retrieve the deficit and win the game 4-3 thanks to a stoppage time Dejan Lovren header, having faced an away goals exit before that intervention. \[[via BBC](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/36020910)\]

These Liverpool fans on Twitter took great pleasure in Borussia Dortmund’s humorous tweet:
