# Liverpool: Fans applaud Andy Robertson’s comments after Brighton defeat

**Many Liverpool fans were delighted with left-back Andy Robertson following his side’s 1-0 defeat to Brighton on Wednesday night.**

The 26-year-old was involved in what was a frustrating night for the Reds, with the Seagulls’ Steven Alzate getting the only goal of the game in what was a well-deserved win for the visitors.

Speaking to [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12208117/jurgen-klopp-blames-liverpools-mental-fatigue-for-brighton-loss-andy-robertson-says-side-not-in-title-race) after the full-time whistle, the Scotsman wrote off any talk that his side are in a title race and insisted that Liverpool needed to be far more consistent.

Robertson received a match rating of just [6.36](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/115726/MatchStatistics/Andrew-Robertson) as his team managed just [one](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1485366/TeamStatistics/England-Premier-League-2020-2021-Liverpool-Brighton) shot on target throughout the 90 minutes, with Manchester City next up for them on Sunday, which is teeing up to be a huge game for both teams – perhaps for different reasons based on Robertson’s admission.
