# Liverpool: Fans applaud Diogo Jota after PFA award nomination

**Many Liverpool fans showered forward Diogo Jota with praise after it was [announced](https://twitter.com/LFC/status/1337000358346821634) he is in the running for the PFA Fans’ Premier League Player of the Month award.**

The 24-year-old has been on fire since his [£41m](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54214671) move from Wolves, having scored nine goals from his first 17 games in all competitions, which includes five from nine Premier League outings ([TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diogo-jota/leistungsdaten/spieler/340950)).

As a result, the Portugal international was officially [nominated](https://twitter.com/LFC/status/1337000358346821634) for the monthly accolade alongside the likes Bruno Fernandes, Harry Kane, Sergio Reguilon, Jamie Vardy and James Ward-Prowse.

This asserts the importance of Jota to Jurgen Klopp’s side, with his assistant Pep Ljinders previously describing him as a “pressing monster” after having watched him for some time before the Merseysiders made their move (cited by [Empire of the Kop](https://www.empireofthekop.com/2020/09/24/ljinders-tips-pressing-monster-jota-to-smash-it-at-liverpool/)).

Unsurprisingly, this attracted a wave of positive responses from supporters who are keen to see him rewarded for his early-season efforts.
