# Liverpool: Fans baffled by Ryan Kent’s claims about being “lied to”

**Rangers winger Ryan Kent took a swipe at former club Liverpool by claiming he was “lied to” about his future at the Anfield club before [moving to Glasgow permanently](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49552351) earlier this month.**

[Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/12040/11808020/ryan-kent-says-he-was-lied-to-over-his-future-before-sealing-his-7-5m-move-to-rangers) reported that the 22-year-old said he had to train on his own after the Reds concluded their pre-season programme, with Liverpool initially refusing to countenance a second Ibrox loan move for Kent after [his time there last season](https://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/rangers-sign-ryan-kent/), and the article was shared on Twitter by [@SkySportsPL](https://twitter.com/SkySportsPL/status/1172234822632247298).

Kent told [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/12040/11808020/ryan-kent-says-he-was-lied-to-over-his-future-before-sealing-his-7-5m-move-to-rangers): “When you are told you can do one thing and then you are lied to and it doesn’t happen, that is quite hard to take.”

Last month, [STV](https://stv.tv/sport/football/1439861-ryan-kent-won-t-be-returning-to-rangers-for-second-spell/) reported that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp vetoed the idea of Kent being loaned to Rangers for a second time this season, having [spent 2018/19 on loan at Ibrox](https://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/rangers-sign-ryan-kent/).

Subsequently, the [Daily Record](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/ryan-kent-push-through-rangers-18972425) claimed that the winger was prepared to down tools to try and force through a move to Glasgow.

These Liverpool fans on Twitter weren’t exactly sympathetic with Kent following his comments about his former club:
