# Liverpool: Fans beg Reds to hand Mohamed Salah new contract after news emerges

**Many Liverpool fans have been begging the club to hand forward Mohamed Salah a new contract after reports emerged which suggested that the club are ready to tie him down.**

According to Goal’s [Neil Jones](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/forget-barcelona-real-madrid-salah-legacy-made-with/k19vl1l49tre139jnck04u0rn), the Reds are lining up a new and improved contract for the Egypt international, worth in the region of £230k-per-week.

This comes after Salah’s former teammate Mohamed Aboutrika claimed that the player was [“unhappy”](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9073927/Mohamed-Salah-unhappy-Liverpool-considering-selling-claims-ex-team-mate.html) at Anfield and wanted to leave Merseyside.

During an interview with [AS](https://en.as.com/en/2020/12/19/football/1608337060_026566.html), the 28-year-old refused to rule out a possible move to La Liga giants Barcelona or Real Madrid in the future, stating that his future was all in “Liverpool’s hands.”

As a result, these supporters were delighted with the update from Jones and were very keen to see Salah rewarded for his efforts.
