# Liverpool: Fans blast Takumi Minamino following stat reveal

**Many Liverpool fans blasted midfielder Takumi Minamino on the back of their side’s [1-1](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55221508) draw against FC Midtjylland on Wednesday.**

The Reds had already qualified for the Last 16 of the Champions League and Jurgen Klopp opted to go with a side that was evenly intertwined with first-team regulars and youth players.

After the full-time whistle, FBRef (via [Anfield Watch](https://twitter.com/AnfieldWatch/status/1337137401102094336)) recorded that the Japan international made 37 pressures during the game, which was the most that any Liverpool player has accumulated in the past two games.

Since his [£7.25m](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50849473) move last January from RB Salzburg, Minamino has come under [criticism](https://thisisfutbol.com/2020/01/blogs/premier-league/liverpool-these-fans-slate-takumi-minamino-for-midweek-performance/) from segments of the Anfield faithful, after scoring just three goals in 27 appearances ([TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/takumi-minamino/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/165793)).

With this in mind, supporters were heavily critical towards the Japanese playmaker once more, with some even suggesting that he should be sold during the next transfer window.

> Tbf, he just keeps running everywhere trying to pressure but he never gets the ball. A finger is enough to push him away. Everytime, I see a kid strolling around the pitch.
