Yesterday it was confirmed that Liverpool’s Carabao Cup quarter-final away to Aston Villa will be played on Tuesday December 17th, the day before the Reds are in action in the Club World Cup semi-finals in Qatar. \[[via Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/11855017/liverpools-carabao-cup-quarter-final-at-aston-villa-confirmed)\]

The Anfield club agreed to the resolution and confirmed that they will field two playing squads simultaneously to complete the fixtures on the dates for which they are scheduled. \[[via liverpoolfc.com](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/372222-club-statement-carabao-cup-aston-villa)\]

Following the resumption of the club season after this month’s international break, Liverpool will play 14 fixtures in five different competitions across a maximum of 45 days between November 23rd and, at the latest, January 6th. \[[via Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/11855017/liverpools-carabao-cup-quarter-final-at-aston-villa-confirmed)\]

The Reds have already had to [postpone their Premier League fixture away to West Ham](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/363484-liverpool-fifa-club-world-cup-west-ham-postponed), which had been scheduled for December 21st, the date on which the Reds will be playing in either the [Club World Cup final or third place play-off](https://www.fifa.com/clubworldcup/matches/).

These Liverpool fans on Twitter asked Garcia, who played [121 times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luis-garcia/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/7920) for the club [between 2004 and 2007](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luis-garcia/transfers/spieler/7920), to make a comeback following his tongue-in-cheek remark:

> You, Carra, Agger, Alonso, Torres, Berger, Smicer, Stevie G Please dust off the boots. We will win it with this squad. Coaihmin and Lonners will be enough in between the posts. Some players and kids can fill the squad.
