# Liverpool: Fans delighted that Sadio Mane will snub Real Madrid

**Liverpool supporters have [responded](https://twitter.com/goal/status/1189079201279860738) to reports that Sadio Mane is set to turn down an approach by Real Madrid for his services and remain on Merseyside.**

The Senegal international is currently in his fourth season at Anfield after joining for [£34m](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36642523) from Southampton in 2016 and has become one of Jurgen Klopp’s most [important](https://www.squawka.com/en/news/liverpool-sadio-mane-most-important-player) players during his tenure at the club.

He recently told [TV2](https://www.tv2.no/sport/10945970/) that he wants to stay at the club “forever” and now according to [Don Balon](https://twitter.com/goal/status/1189079201279860738) (via [Goal](https://twitter.com/goal/status/1189079201279860738)), Mane will snub a move to the Spanish capital in favour of a longer stay at Anfield.

Mane already has [five goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sadio-mane/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/200512) from his first 10 Premier League games this season and has scored a total of [68 goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sadio-mane/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/200512) in 137 outings in the famous all-red strip.
