# Liverpool: Fans delighted with Adrian’s performance against Napoli

**Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian said that he took no satisfaction from his performance in the 2-0 defeat to Napoli last night, despite making several saves.**

The 32-year-old, who was [making his Champions League debut](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adrian/detaillierteleistungsdaten/spieler/71271), told [liverpoolfc.com](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/365136-adrian-saves-napoli-liverpool-reaction?utm_source=Social&utm_medium=TwitterWebsiteCards&utm_content=Digital&utm_campaign=LFCTwitterCards): “I gave my best, I tried hard. But at the end of the day we lost 2-0, so I can’t be happy.”

Liverpool’s official Twitter channel [@LFC](https://twitter.com/LFC/status/1174244961828651010) shared more of Adrian’s post-match comments, with the goalkeeper now setting his sights on the Premier League encounter with Chelsea on Sunday.

The Spaniard ended last night’s match with [three saves (via WhoScored)](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1426944/Live/Europe-UEFA-Champions-League-2019-2020-Napoli-Liverpool), including one excellent reaction stop to turn behind Dries Mertens’ close-range header early in the second half, which [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/napoli-vs-liverpool/420346)‘ Ron Walker described as “[a world-class save](https://www.skysports.com/football/napoli-vs-liverpool/420346)“.

Adrian has played in [all of Liverpool’s last seven matches](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adrian/leistungsdaten/spieler/71271) in place of the injured Alisson, who has been [out of action since August 9th](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alisson/leistungsdaten/spieler/105470) and is only due back in training this week, according to [liverpoolfc.com](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/364396-naby-keita-alisson-becker-injury-update).

These Liverpool fans on Twitter feel that Adrian can be happy with his contribution to a disappointing night for the Reds:
