# Liverpool: Fans delighted with Virgil van Dijk update

**A number of Liverpool supporters have been going wild over the news that Virgil van Dijk may feature in this week’s friendly against Hertha Berlin.**

Van Dijk’s cruciate ligament injury last season was arguably the defining moment of the Reds’ campaign, with the 30-year-old ruled out from October onwards.

The Dutchman has been widely seen as the world’s best centre-back for a number of years and his long absence hurt Liverpool badly.
