# Liverpool: Fans demand spending money on Mbappe after profitable transfer window

**Liverpool could have ended up recouping more than £53m from transferring players out of the club this summer.**

Liverpool confirmed the permanent departures of two players yesterday on transfer deadline day in several European leagues, selling [Ryan Kent](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11788/11800947/rangers-sign-ryan-kent-from-liverpool-for-7-5m-on-four-year-deal) to Rangers for a fee of up to £7.5m, and allowing Bobby Duncan to leave for Fiorentina in a deal worth around £2m, according to [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/11800852/bobby-duncan-leaves-liverpool-for-fiorentina).

The Reds had already received transfer fees for the sales of [Danny Ings](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/08/09/danny-ings-completes-20m-southampton-move/) and [Simon Mignolet](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/aug/04/simon-mignolet-liverpool-club-brugge) during the summer, and were frugal with their spending, with just [£1.3m invested in Sepp van den Berg](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48755456) and [Harvey Elliott joining for an undisclosed sum](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/358354-liverpool-fc-confirm-signing-of-harvey-elliott), while goalkeepers [Adrian](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/359359-liverpool-fc-complete-signing-of-goalkeeper-adrian) and [Andy Lonergan](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/360357-andy-lonergan-liverpool-signing-contract-jurgen-klopp) did not cost the Reds a transfer fee.

That was despite the Anfield club being linked with Kylian Mbappe (according to [Daily Star](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/kylian-mbappe-transfer-latest-liverpool-17219462)) in recent months.

These Liverpool fans on Twitter demanded that the club use this summer’s transfer profit to invest in a marquee signing next year in the form of the French star:
